Dustin R. Daniel, Practice Manager/Veterinary Technician

Dustin began his career as a veterinary technician more than 16 years ago. He is a graduate of Eastern Randolph High School in Ramseur, North Carolina, and furthered his education at North Carolina State and North Carolina A&T State Universities. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science and completed some Master’s degree work in Agricultural and Extension Education.

Dustin started at Chatham Veterinary Service in September of 2018 and has worked in numerous areas including Academia, Emergency Medicine, Zoo Medicine, Research, Small and Large Animal Medicine and Management.

He and his wife currently live in Staley on a small farm, and have several animals including 6 dogs and 1 cat. In his free time, Dustin enjoys hiking, camping, fishing, traveling, spending time with his family, and being out on his farm. He is a member of several civic organizations including The Randolph County Livestock and Poultry Improvement Association and The Eastern Randolph Future Farmers of America Alumni.


Salena Smith, Registered Veterinary Technician

Salena Smith is a Chatham County native who graduated from Chatham Central High School in 2006. She completed her Associate of Science degree at Central Carolina Community College, Sanford, then transferred to North Carolina State University where she graduated with her Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology in 2010.

She began working at Chatham Veterinary Service the same year, and after some traveling, she decided to go back to school for her Veterinary Technician degree. Salena became a registered veterinary technician in 2016.

Salena and her husband have one daughter. Her pet family includes 2 dogs and 2 horses. In her spare time, Salena enjoys traveling, DIY crafts, and spending time with her family.


Nicole Mabry, Veterinary Assistant

Nicole Mabry was born in Lee County, North Carolina and was raised in Chatham County. She joined Chatham Veterinary Service in September of 2017.

Nicole graduated from Chatham Central High School in 2007 and furthered her education at Randolph Community College where she obtained a degree in Office Systems Technology.

Nicole has a sweet little girl named Aubrey, and two cats named Kitty Cat and Bandi. She enjoys Dr. Pepper, making people laugh, and making personalized shirts and tumblers.


Abril Webster, Veterinary Assistant / Groomer

Abril is originally from Asheboro, North Carolina and currently resides in Coleridge. She joined Chatham Veterinary Service in April of 2016 as a Veterinary Assistant/Groomer.

Abril has always had a passion for working with animals, and since her introduction to grooming almost 4 years ago, she feels that it has been one of the best things to ever happen to her and her career.

Abril has one daughter and a Chihuahua named Bandit. She enjoys spending her free time with her daughter, as well as fishing, and going on road trips with her family.


Brooke Thornburg, Veterinary Assistant / Receptionist

Brooke is a native of Alamance County, North Carolina and currently lives in Bear Creek. She became a member of the team here at Chatham Veterinary Service in April of 2016.

Since then, she has loved being the face of the practice and greeting each client that comes through the doors. Brooke states “One thing I love most about my job is getting to help the clients and their pets”.

Brooke has 2 beautiful children and 3 pets. She enjoys spending time with her family, going to bull riding events, going to the beach, and making crafts with her kids.
